Have you heard about the Stern Hotel plan (at the intersection of Stevens Creek Blvd. and Stern Ave.)?
A new 6 story, 90 foot tall hotel is proposed at Stern and Stevens Creek Blvd, at the current Shell gas station, the "gateway" to the Stevens Creek Urban Village bordering Cupertino's Rancho Rinconada neighborhood. The property is only 0.4 acres at 5956 Stevens Creek Blvd . Could you believe a 90 foot tall 6 story hotel be built without intruding on the privacy of the neighboring residences?
Shall we allow a 6 story hotel towering over our Single Family House (SFH) district?
Does it sound reasonable to build an 90-feet tall hotel can be built on a double SFH lot (Only 12000 sqft, which is equal to 2 or 3 standard SFH lot around it)?
Do you believe only under ground parking can solve the parking problem for this Hotel?
Will hotel traffic on this congested section of Stevens Creek Blvd. become even worse? Will many hotel guests have to park on our residential streets?
Though the Stern Hotel Plan was passed in San Jose City Council, the specific development proposal hasn’t been submitted. So, we still have time to oppose it.
