At the end of June, the City qualified Sand Hill Property Co’s SB35 project. The dubious qualification is subject to legal challenge. The alternatives–specific plans for Vallco–are undergoing Environmental Impact Review (EIR).

It is evident that the developer and his allies on the city council are eager to approve the project before November 2018 elections.
Many neighbors attended the Sept. 18 council meeting and spoke their concerns. The meeting was halted at about 2 am, and resumed on Wed. Sept. 19. On Wed. Sept. 19, the council voted 3-2 to adopt the Tier 2 (larger) Vallco Specific Plan. The 3 council members voting for were: Rod Sinks, Barry Chang, Savita Vaidhyanathan.
