Better Cupertino was founded in 2014 as a Google group. In last two years, we started to have our website, Facebook page, YouTube channel…… Now, like other formalized community advocacy groups, Better Cupertino has both a campaign committee and a 501c3 non-profit in order to serve the community and advocate for a better Cupertino with sensible growth. Here is a short introduction:

1. Better Cupertino Action Committee

Better Cupertino Action Committee is a political committee following FPPC rules. That means it can endorse and support candidates, sponsor initiatives and referendums…… In 2016, Better Cupertino endorsed Steven Scharf for Cupertino city council and Liang Chao for CUSD board. Both of them won the election. If you want to help us to support more pro-residents candidates or promote an initiative, you can donate to Better Cupertino Action Committee.
Please note that political donations are NOT tax-deductible. What’s more, you have to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and provide your employment information when donate.

2. Friends of Better Cupertino (501c3)

A 501c3 organization can not engage in political campaign. But it can educate people about details of development projects, promote the philosophy of sensible growth, empower our community, and host forums on development related issues.
Anyone may donate to a 501c3 organization and your donation will be tax-deductible (please consult with your tax consultant for special cases.)
To donate, please write a check payable to “Friends of Better Cupertino” and mail it to
P.O. Box 1464, Cupertino, CA 95015
Thank you!
